Broadcasting Easter – update

We are delighted to announce that BBC One television will broadcast live on Easter Morning from Leicester Cathedral at 10.00am. All will be welcome to attend this Holy Communion service, with the congregation needing to be seated by 9.30am at the latest.

In addition two episodes of ‘Songs of Praise’ will also be recorded on Easter Monday, 21 April 2014, with the recording sessions as follows:

Session One: Monday 21 April 2014, 1.00pm – 4.00pm
Session Two: Monday 21 April 2014, 6.00pm – 9.00pm

Up to 100 places will be available at each recording session for members of the Cathedral congregation.  A list will be made available following the 10.30am Eucharist next Sunday, 23 February, for congregation members to sign up for tickets, which will be distributed nearer the time. Due to the expected demand, we will only be able to allocate a maximum of 2 tickets per person, or a family group of up to 5 people, and to one recording session only.

Tickets will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.  If you receive tickets and later find out you are unable to attend, please let the Cathedral office know so that they can be reallocated.

Please note that congregation members will need to be seated at the very latest 15 minutes before recording begins. Please do check the Cathedral website at for further updates.
