Defining Moments: Poetry in the Cathedral
A free exhibition of poetry and photographs at Leicester Cathedral
How can poetry help us to reflect on the defining moments of our human experience?
This exhibition brings together poems from ancient times to the present day, by writers including Wendy Cope, the Nobel prize winner Seamus Heaney, and the former Poet Laureate Carol Ann Duffy.
Specially commissioned photographs connect the poems with objects and spaces around the Cathedral, offering a space to explore meaning and find moments of stillness.
Follow the trail and encounter new ways of seeing through words and images.
Describe my soul
as incense, votive, vanishing; your own
