On Easter Sunday morning, Leicester Cathedral’s Eucharist service was broadcast to the nation on BBC One television. The Cathedral was packed to the rafters with 500 people in the congregation (and cameras!) to share in a moving and joyful Easter Eucharist.
The service featured fantastic music from the Cathedral Choir and the Graff Orchestra of England, joyful singing, a moving personal sermon from the Dean, beautiful colourful dancing by Asian Christians from All Saints’ Church, as well as a renewal of baptism vows and Eucharist.
In addition, on Easter Monday two editions of Songs of Praise were recorded, with the first due to be broadcast on Pentecost Sunday (8 June).
The Easter Day service is available to watch on the BBC iPlayer until 11.00am on Sunday 27 April.
