Leicester Cathedral is the mother church for the Diocese of Leicester, the seat of the Bishop of Leicester and has been a place of worship since 1086. We are the only church in the Diocese that is open 365 days of the year and we welcome those of all faiths and none for worship, events and activities, and outreach through our partnership with St Martins House.
We receive no funding from the Government so to keep our doors open, the building warm and staffed we depend heavily on the generosity of individuals and grant givers.
Your one off or regular payment of any size makes a genuine impact. Many of our gifts are small but their collective value is of lasting importance. Your gift will help us to provide worship, music, learning and sanctuary to all our communities. It will also help ensure our Cathedral remains free to enter.
We hope you will trust us to spend your gift according to our greatest need or opportunity. However, if you wish to designate your gift, you can contact our development team to help you choose an area of our work that most interests you – please email firstname.lastname@example.org
Please consider supporting Leicester Cathedral through a regular gift.

Are you Eligible for Gift Aid?
If so, please download a Gift Aid form and enclose it with your cheque.
The terms and conditions of the Gift Aid Scheme state that to be eligible to Gift Aid you must meet the following criteria:
- An individual must be a UK tax payer who must pay an amount of income tax and or capital gains tax at least equal to the tax that the Cathedral reclaims on your donations in the appropriate tax year (this is currently 25p for every £1.00).
- Donations made by individual donors must be from their own money, an individual cannot make a donation under Gift Aid using someone else’s money.
- Donors can only donate for themselves and their immediate family members only.
Many Cathedral members and supporters use the Parish Giving Scheme to make a regular gift. This is a Direct Debit scheme which also reclaims Gift Aid for us monthly.
If you wish to find out more about the scheme and register your interest please visit www.parishgivingscheme.org.uk – you will need to have Leicester Cathedral’s unique PGS parish code to hand, which is 190619001.
If you already give through the Parish Giving Scheme and want to adjust your giving, whether upwards or downwards, you can contact them on email@example.com or call them 0333 002 1260.
If you would like to donate regularly by setting up your own Standing Order direct to Leicester Cathedral then please download a Standing Order Form.
During this time of lockdown due to coronavirus, we ask that you send the Standing Order form directly to your bank. This is because the Cathedral and its offices are closed at the current time. Thank you very much indeed.
Thank you for your kind support. Together we can ensure that Leicester Cathedral continues to be a Beating Heart for City and County.
