Education Packages 2016
We currently offer three kinds of visits for schools:
i) A one hour guided tour – which follows the route around the Cathedral with age-appropriate commentary and questions. £2 per head.
ii) A two/four hour themed workshop – where we work with different ‘stations’ with different themes around the Cathedral. £3/£5 per head.
iii) An unguided tour, for which we can offer some materials for the teachers. £1 per head.
Visits of schoolchildren obviously need to be catered for appropriately in terms of welcomers as well as schools guides. If you wish to add to the number you’ve originally booked for, you will need to contact our Bookings Manager. If any extra children arrive on visits they will be invoiced for – if we have space to accommodate them.
Our Education Officer is Andy Heafford, and he can be contacted to tailor visits that can suit the interests of the group. He can be reached via email at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone at 0116 261 5382.
These visits must be booked well in advance by contacting Peter Collett, our Bookings Manager via email – email@example.com. Bookings are subject to availability of the building around the daily service pattern and other events and the availability of schools guides. Please note that our Bookings Manager works a seven day shift pattern which means it may take a few days to get a reply.
Canon Alison Adams is our lead on King Richard III legacy materials, which include a growing resource of education materials. She also has information about teacher training in this area. You can contact her directly at firstname.lastname@example.org
