Family visits at Leicester Cathedral
Leicester Cathedral is a great place to visit with children and we have a variety of activities to help you explore our historic building!
Here's how you can make the most of your visit:
Pick up a family trail
Complete the activities and learn about the stories of Leicester Cathedral. The trails are free and there's a sticker to collect from the welcome desk when you finish the booklet.

Explore the Heritage Centre
Have fun with the hands-on activities on offer in our newly opened exhibition space. How about designing a stained glass window, building a model of a Cathedral or matching up our grotesque figures? You'll even see a replica crown and the 2015 funeral pall used for King Richard III's reburial.

Family area
In the north aisle, we have a dedicated family area with books, bean bags, colouring-in, playmats for babies and a selection of toys.

Little Tigers Stay and Play
New from September 2025, we will be holding monthly stay and play sessions for babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers. A fun, relaxed and informal meet up with tea and coffee and a brand-new modern space for children to discover. Toilets and baby change available. Please note, spaces are very limited and places need to be pre-booked. For the remainder of 2025 we are trialling a 'pay what you can' approach.
