Leicester Cathedral is pleased to announce a special programme of events taking place from Monday 16 March to Saturday 21 March 2026, commemorating the 2015 reinterment of King Richard III.
This unique week – In the Presence of a King – invites visitors to explore the life, death, legacy, and cultural impact of England's last Plantagenet king through talks, performances, and historical experiences.
Programme Highlights

The Princes in the Tower: Talk by Matthew Lewis
Author and historian Matthew Lewis examines one of the most enduring mysteries in English history: the fate of Richard III's nephews, the Princes in the Tower. Rather than ask who killed them, Lewis explores whether they may have survived – and if so, whether their return threatened the reign of Henry VII.
Tickets available via Eventbrite.

1 King, 2 Princes, and Shakespeare's Lie
In this electrifying one-man performance, the myths surrounding Richard III come under scrutiny. Was he the villain Shakespeare painted him to be, or was history written by his enemies? Blending fact, fiction, and dramatic storytelling, this event invites audiences to reconsider the king's legacy.

Thursday 19 March | 7.00pm (doors 6.30pm)
