Visitor Welcoming

The Cathedral draws visitors from around the world, eager to see the tomb of Richard III and other artefacts dating from medieval to contemporary times. If you are friendly, approachable and enjoy meeting people, why not consider being part of our visitor welcome team.

Commitment: Shifts generally of two-hour duration with frequency to suit.

Tour Guides

The Cathedral offers a range of tours, including Richard III tours, full Cathedral tours, Cathedral highlights tours, windows tours and walking tours. We also deliver talks to special interest groups at locations of their choosing. If you have a thirst for history and enjoy sharing your knowledge, why not train to become a guide.

Commitment: All year round with the summer months being busier.

Learning Volunteers

From hosting school groups in term time to offering children's craft activities in the holidays, the lot of a learning volunteer is both varied and enjoyable. If you have prior experience of working with children and young adults, why not get in touch.

Commitment: Ad hoc all year round.

Events

The Cathedral delivers a packed events programme including theatre productions, installations, light projection shows and concerts. Supporting events covers activities such as ticket management, greeting visitors, handing out programmes and serving refreshments. If you have good mobility and enjoy engaging with the public, this opportunity could be perfect for you.

Commitment: Ad hoc all year round.
