Here at Leicester Cathedral, we're thrilled to welcome Philharmonia Orchestra Instrumental Fellows for a series of recitals in a new partnership with this acclaimed orchestra. Throughout the year, we will be hosting regular free recitals featuring the Orchestra's Fellows.

Join us on Monday 13 May at 12.30pm for a recital performed by Ellis Thomas on Piano.

Free admission, with donations encouraged.

Ellis Thomas graduated from the University of Cambridge in 2022 with First-Class Honours and is currently pursuing postgraduate studies at the Royal Academy of Music with Tessa Nicholson.

Ellis regularly performs around the UK and soloist and chamber musician and has been awarded numerous prizes at competitions including the Robert Schumann International Piano Competition Düsseldorf and the Wales International Piano Festival. He has worked with professors such as Boris Berman, Imogen Cooper, Steven Osborne, amongst others.

Ellis is grateful for support from the Countess of Munster Musical Trust, the Robert Turnbull foundation, the James Pantyfedwen Foundation, and the Ryan Davies Memorial Fund.

The Philharmonia is a world-class symphony orchestra for the 21st century, led by Principal Conductor Santtu-Matias Rouvali. Based in London at Southbank Centre's Royal Festival Hall, resident in cities and at festivals across England, and streaming online, the Philharmonia creates thrilling performances for a global audience.
