Armed Forces Day

Armed Forces Day

Date: Sat, 29th Jun 2024, 11:00 - 12:00

Venue: Leicester

On the last Saturday each June, the nation comes together to celebrate Armed Forces Day and show support for the men and women of our Armed Forces community, past and present.

From 11.00am, all are welcome to follow the Parade from the Leicester Clock Tower, with support from the Seaforth Highlanders. The parade will move from Belgrave Gate up the High Street, falling out in Jubilee Square.

An open-air Drumhead Service will then be conducted at 11.20am in Jubilee Square by the Dean of Leicester, Karen Rooms. A Drumhead Service is a church service conducted in the field, with the Regimental drums and colours used to form an altar.

This event is open to the public, and we would encourage everyone to come along and show their support to our Armed Forces!

This event is being run in conjunction with Leicester City Council and Leicestershire County Council.
