Music at Leicester Cathedral
Music is at the very heart of cathedral life and shapes our worship through the varied seasons of the liturgical year. Music plays an important part in creating a welcoming and inclusive environment, ensuring that visitors to the Cathedral feel at home at regular services, concerts and other events.
The commitment and dedication of our music staff, choir members and their families mean that we already enjoy high standards of music making, but we know that – with more resources – we can aim even higher and reach even more of the people of Leicester and Leicestershire
The Cathedral's Canon Precentor, Emma Davies says, "Music is transformative to listeners and performers alike and those who take part in it find themselves changed and enabled in very different areas of their lives. By giving to Leicester Cathedral Music Foundation, you can support this vital part of our Cathedral life."
Dr Chris Ouvry-Johns, the Cathedral's Director of Music says, "Your gift to the Leicester Cathedral Music Foundation or membership of The Guild of St Katharine will help young people flourish musically, socially and spiritually. By pledging a regular donation to the Music Foundation, you can help us ensure that the range of opportunities available to future generations."
Please support our work
Please, if you can, donate towards the work of our Music Department. Your support will allow us to offer more singing and instrument tuition which will allow our choristers to fulfil their potential as musicians.
If you donate a minimum of £300 as a one-off donation, or a minimum of £25 per month we will offer you membership of the Guild of St Katharine - which will allow you to get more involved with music-making here.
Your generosity will make a difference!
Please donate via the Parish Giving Scheme here. 100% of your donation, including GiftAid (if you are eligible for it) will come directly to help music-making at the Cathedral.
